LETHBRIDGE, ALB—MAY 22, 2010—Despite hitting the gate at the start, Jl Sirocco held off Memories N Moments by a neck to win the first of two trials for the $17,500-added Rocky Mountain Turf Club Bank of America Maiden Challenge Saturday afternoon at Lethbridge.
The top eight qualifiers will return on June 5th to compete in the 350 yard race for 3-year-old and older maidens at the time of nomination. The "Bank of America Maiden Challenge" is a series of ten added-money races that are run across the United States, Canada and Mexico for Challenge enrolled maidens at time of nomination.
Racing for his breeder, Jill Lane Quarter Horses, Jl Sirocco completed the course in :17.920 for the top mark (SI 94). The Dash Ta Fame 3-year-old was saddled by William Leech and ridden by Scott Steer.
